Terms of Service

1. Service Description

SGPayNowQR Developer Platform ("Service") provides a REST API for generating EMVCo-compliant Singapore PayNow QR codes. The Service is operated at developers.sgpaynowqr.com.

2. Account Terms

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys.
• You must not share API keys or allow unauthorised access to your account.
• You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service.
• One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Generate QR codes for fraudulent, illegal, or deceptive purposes.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or security measures.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Resell or redistribute the API as a standalone service without prior written consent.
• Transmit malicious payloads, attempt injection attacks, or interfere with Service operations.
• Use automated tools to scrape or overload the API beyond your tier's rate limits.

Violation of acceptable use policies may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice.

4. API Usage & Rate Limits

• Each pricing tier has a monthly request limit. Exceeding your limit will result in HTTP 429 responses until the next billing period.
• Only successful (2xx) requests count toward your monthly quota.
• Rate limits reset on the first day of each calendar month (Singapore time, UTC+8).
• We reserve the right to throttle or suspend access to accounts exhibiting abusive usage patterns.

5. Payment & Billing

• Free tier accounts are available with limited monthly requests.
• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly.
• You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal.
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

6. API Key Security

• API keys are stored using one-way hashing for lookup and encrypted for portal display.
• You may revoke compromised keys at any time through the dashboard.
• We are not responsible for unauthorised usage resulting from compromised API keys.

7. Service Availability

We aim to provide high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability, and will endeavour to provide advance notice for planned maintenance.

8. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
• Upon termination, your API keys will be revoked and your data will be deleted in accordance with our data retention practices.
• Active paid subscriptions will be cancelled upon account deletion.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SGPayNowQR and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
